PLA printing string is a universal material for FDM printing technology, also suitable for printing large objects. It is the most widely used material for 3D printing without the need to heat the printing pad.
Suitability of using PLA:
PLA filament is easy to print, it is biodegradable (thus also environmentally friendly). However, it is a material that is not suitable for outdoor use, it degrades and becomes brittle when exposed to UV radiation. It is also not heat resistant. Already at 30 - 50°C, prints become soft and deformed. Therefore, it is not suitable to carry the prints in cars. PLA is a flammable material. Therefore, we recommend not leaving the printer unattended for long periods of time when printing with this material.
Recommended settings: Printing temperature: 210°C, retraction 0.8mm, speed 60mm/s (outline 70%), layer 0.2mm - 0.05mm. When using a printer with PEI foil, it is necessary to degrease the pad well. The resulting print is smooth, slightly glossy with no visible errors.
We recommend ensuring a dry environment for storage. If stored poorly in a humid environment, it absorbs moisture, which manifests as bubbles on the surface during printing.
Coil outer diameter 202 mm, inner hole 50 mm, width 90 mm. Coil weight including packaging 1.4 kg. The printing string is wound on a black spool, in a plastic vacuum bag, a cardboard box and another plastic bag.
The amount of PLA filament on a 1kg spool is about 330 meters. The value is approximate, as the diameter of the string can vary according to the tolerance stated by the manufacturer. At Plastů Mladeč it is +- 0.05mm.
