Quality printing material of the FIBER3D brand.
PLA filament with carbon fiber (Carbon Fiber) is a special PLA material that is reinforced with carbon fiber.
Material description: PLA, Polylactic acid, polylactic acid is a bioplastic that is made from corn starch with the same properties as plastics made from oil. PLA is more environmentally friendly than, for example, ABS. The material is soluble in tetrahydrofuren. Possible long-term exposure to acetone can etch the surface. The disadvantage is lower temperature resistance. PLA can be actively cooled during printing, it does not need a heated pad. PLA processing temperature is 190-220°C.
Surface treatment: during the processing of prints, heat is generated, which causes the fibers to "pull" from the print. Therefore, it is advisable to cool the print when sanding by hand. E.g. underwater grinding; spraying with filler, sanding, repeating this process until the product is perfectly smooth.
Storage: ensure a dry environment. Protect from heat.
The main advantages of the material:
- little shrinkage on cooling - no heated pad or chamber necessary
- good print quality even when printing at high speed
- soluble in sodium hydroxide
- biodegradable material
- harmless to health, non-toxic
- reinforced with carbon fiber
